The stresses of caring for an older loved one can be equally overwhelming.
FST helps with the challenges of growing older or caring for an aging loved one. They will help you find the information and support you need to deal with issues such as:
- Overcoming isolation
- Caring for an aging parent / Caregiver Stress
- Building closer ties with your community
- Dealing with chronic or degenerative illness
- Elder abuse
You can go to their office for counselling, attend support groups or educational seminars, talk to a trained counsellor by telephone or, in exceptional circumstances, arrange for a home/community visit. Counselling is provided in English and Spanish.
They also offer walk-in counselling for a FREE single session counselling session with a trained Counsellor or Psychotherapist. The counselling session is usually about 50 minutes and is open to all persons 18 years of age and older.
