On Thursday October 1, we held our 30th Annual General Meeting at our 1709 Bloor St. W. 2nd Fl. location. A special thank you to all Members, Volunteers and Special Guests that actively participated. Our Executive Director, Thom, expertly led the meeting’s agenda complete with staff and volunteer recognition, plus a review of our financials.
Not to worry if you missed the event, we will be sharing highlights and pics soon. Did you see our Tweets?
A quick note to recognize the newest members of our Board of Directors: John Pow and Harold Keller. We’d also like to extend a big thank you to our departing members, Terrie Russell and Opal Rowe.
During the event, our special guest Peggy Nash spoke eloquently on the needs of services like West Toronto Support Services.
Of course, the most important part of the evening was our review of the 2014/2015 Annual Report. Please take a moment to read:
“Thirty years of providing excellent community service is a significant achievement, but it wasn’t accomplished in a vacuum. A support agency like WTSS is only viable if the surrounding community is supportive. Our supporting community consists of many interacting elements. These are clients and their families and care providers, volunteers, dedicated staff, the United Way, private and corporate donors, the province of Ontario, the City of Toronto, and numerous partner non-profit agencies and community health professionals. All have helped WTSS achieve 30 successful years of service. We owe our “community” a very sincere thank you and we look forward to the continued support of our “community” in the years ahead.”, Thom.
