West Toronto Support Services (WTSS) received a new vehicle for their fleet this month thanks to the Rotary Club of Toronto.
They provided us with a new vehicle to replace our aging sedan in a timely and very supportive move to help WTSS continue delivering service to the Toronto community through our Transportation service.
The new four-door sedan will provide rides to medical and social appointments for adults with disabilities and adults 55 and over. It is an increasingly important alternative for individuals who do not qualify for other means of transportation, cannot use public transportation and those that have some mobility issues. It will also be used for popular programs like Grocery Shopping at Cloverdale and Dufferin Mall.
It is a vital service to help individuals remain mobile.
The WTSS vehicles are also connected to Toronto RIDE, a collaborative partnership of fourteen not-for-profit, community support service agencies across Toronto to ensure individuals get to their destination and to meet the rising need for transportation services in an aging population.
The funding for the vehicle was made possible by the Senior Citizens’ Committee of the Rotary Club of Toronto and the Rotary Club of Toronto Charitable Foundation. To learn more about the good work they do, visit their website http://www.rotarytoronto.com/
