This week our #CommunitySupportStories acknowledges Meals-on-Wheels @OCSAtweets @VolunteerTO

All Ontarians deserve the opportunity to live in the comfort of their own homes and communities. In Toronto, West Toronto Support Services has made an impact with all our programs and we’d like to highlight the amazing volunteers in our Meals-on-Wheels Team as part of this week’s #CommunitySupportStories.

Why volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels?

  • Support your Community: by volunteering, you’re not only getting experience, but helping your community.
  • Valuable Experience: expose yourself to the health sector on a community level and support seniors and adults with disabilities

But don’t just take our word for it – our Driver and Runner Volunteers answer the same question, “Why Volunteer”, in this short video:

Did you know that hot meals are delivered between 11 and 1, Monday to Friday? So this service also provides a natural security check on our clients. Should no one answer the door or a delivery cannot be made, we will follow up with the listed emergency contact to determine if everything is alright. Peace of mind for care-givers.
