World Kindness Day is Sunday November 13 @VolunteerTO

All of our wonderful volunteers are committed to forming a world where the elderly can live independently and with dignity for longer, feel respected, supported and counted. Volunteers invest their precious time and talent either on an occasional or a consistent basis.  Once a year we recognize all our Volunteers at our Annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. But these acts of kindness are appreciated everyday!

So let’s give a special shout-out on World Kindness Day to all our Volunteers!

Have you met Vina, our Congregate Dining volunteer? Learn more about what motivates Vina to volunteer at West Toronto Support Services. Watch and share:

World Kindness Day was introduced in 1998 by the World Kindness Movement (a coalition NGOs). It is observed in many countries, including Canada, Japan, Australia, Nigeria and United Arab Emirates.

On this day, we highlight the good deeds in the community focusing on the positive power and the common thread of kindness which binds us. “Kindness is a fundamental part of the human condition which bridges the divides of race religion, politics, gender” (Source: wikipedia).

World Kindness Day is also celebrated by Waves of Kindness Global Initiative at www.wavesofkindness.org
