The Boards’ of Directors of Reconnect Community Health Services and West Toronto Support Services (WTSS) are working toward integrating our organizations to create a combined entity that will better serve our clients and communities. The Boards of Directors have signed a Letter of Intent confirming the parties’ commitment to merging the organizations into a single corporation.
Integrating our services will increase our ability to impact and improve health outcomes for the client populations we serve. It will enable us to meet the challenges and respond to the opportunities in our transforming health care system while ensuring organizational sustainability. The Integrated Organization will merge Reconnect’s expertise in services to seniors, mental health, addictions, and family and caregiver supports with West Toronto Support Services’ expertise in community support services for seniors, resulting in an organization with a much broader range and geography and an increased ability to provide holistic services to those served by Reconnect and WTSS.
The integrated organization will make available a fuller continuum of services for children, youth, adults and seniors in our respective client communities, funded by the Toronto Central Local Health Integration Network. It will have a high degree of focus on, and ability to, provide bundled and coordinated care for service users. As well, an increased back office capacity will mean increased ability to focus on decision support, analytics and quality improvement.
The Boards of Directors are leading the process of bringing the two organizations together.
We remain dedicated to the client populations we serve. We want to reassure our clients and other stakeholders that as an integrated organization we will continue to serve these clients and support our communities at all our current locations.
